La Newyorkina was started in 2010 by Fany Gerson, after a long trip to her native Mexico to write her first book “My Sweet Mexico" she returned to New York wanting to share and celebrate the amazing frozen treats & sweets of Mexico. Everything is handmade from scratch in small batches, using the best ingredients we can get our hands on and never use any artificial flavorings or colorings.

They have delicious beans and it has been a very important and personal relationship and we love that it is rooted in the same borough.

When we openened in Flatiron, we decided we wanted to explore other companies that would work well with our prepared coffee drinks and after trying almost every single one, we decided to partner up with Intelligentsia coffee. Their coffee and customer service won us over, their coffee makes delicious lattes and cappuccinos which accompany our doughnuts so well!
We fell in love with matcha when we were invited to Japan as part of a pop up in Osaka. We searched for different ones and soon realized there are sooo many out there!!! After trying Panatea, made with 100% pure leaf tea we fell in love. At our flatiron location, you can try different cold and hot drinks made from this delicious green tea.
We make our hot chocolate in house using a blend of different chocolates, whipped cream optional. On a cold day there are few things better than a doughnut with a piping hot chocolate :)
